Poulenc   Sonata for violin and piano
Messiaen   Quartet for the End of Time
(Poulenc composed the Sonata during the German occupation and dedicated it to the memory of the poet Federico Garcia Lorca, and so it makes an apt but contrasting counterpart to the Messiaen)
